The more psychedelic and popular US release of Echotropia (2000) made a claim for fame for Stassinapoulou, but this recording from 1998 is, in my opinion, her best. Real deep roots are exposed while she exploes the boundaries of the greek musical world, still solidly in a pop-folk vein, but infinitely more exploratory and true to the Greek heritage. She has truly woven her world together out of a unique set of fibers from near and far.
