Workshop on Greek traditional demotika folk songs (Greek folk poetry, stories behind, chanting)
 
Griechenland & Alpenland, gemeinsam mit Evelyn Fink-Mennel
Die Sängerin, Poetin und Geschichtenschreiberin Kristi Stassinopoulu und der Lautenist und Multi-Instrumentalist Stathis Kalyviotis gehören zu den innovativsten MusikerInnen aus Athen. Sie nehmen ihr Publikum mit auf eine musikalisch kulturhistorische Reise durch Griechenland. Sie stellen die ursprünglichen Lieder der Dörfer, „demotika“, in den Mittelpunkt, mit ihren Geschichten von Liebe, aber auch Armut und Zuwanderung. Die Grundrhythmen der Musik werden auch getanzt. Erstmals verbinden sich zwei Workshops zum gemeinsamen Erlebnis, wenn Kursleiterin Evelyn Fink-Mennel alpenländische Lieder den griechischen zur Seite stellt. Unterrichtssprache Englisch.

The result of their collective work in the Centrum Sete Sois Sete Luas is a program of dance songs and themes that bring together, not only the different cultures of the countries from where these musicians came, but also harmoniously combine the Past with the Future: a very interesting mixture of old musical instruments from the medieval times with the modern trance-electronica elements.

Greek singer Kristi Stassinopoulou and Stathis Kalyviotis,with his Greek traditional lute and his electronic laboratory, are the cultural “leaders” of this collective work. The 11 years old violin player Fernandito and his father, Fernando Meireles, one of the most important luthiers of Portugal, add the wonderful music-colors of the violin, the mandolin and the hurdy-gurdy. And the franco-brazilian percussionist Roberto di Mello with a set of percussions from all over the world, they all together promise to fly us.
